Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 2, 2026
TechReview (tech-review.cc) is run by AdTech Consulting Group LLC, doing business as Vimay Group ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, why, and the choices you have.
The short version
- You don't need an account, and we never ask for your name, email or payment details.
- We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful, and a small number of cookies to make the site work.
- When you click a "Check price" button, you go to a retailer such as Amazon. That retailer and its affiliate network may set their own cookies so we can earn a commission.
- We don't sell your personal information.
Information we collect
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, when you visit we (and the services below) receive technical information your browser sends:
- your IP address, browser and device type, operating system and language;
- the pages you view, the page that referred you, and the date and time of your visit;
- if you arrived from an ad, the ad click identifiers in the link (for example
gclidorutm_parameters).
Clicks on buy buttons
Buy buttons go through a short redirect on our site (/go/…) so we can count which guides and products readers find useful. We store only the article, the product, the retailer and the time of the click. We don't store your IP address with it; it is held in memory for a few minutes so repeated clicks aren't counted twice.
Search
If you use the site search or the product finder, your search terms are used to show results. We don't link them to you.
Information you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use it only to reply.
Cookies and similar technologies
- Google Analytics (
_gaand_ga_*cookies): measures visits, page views, scrolling on reviews, clicks on buy buttons and script errors. Google processes this data under its own policies. - Ad visit cookie (
tr_ad, 7 days): set only when you arrive from one of our ads, so we can tell whether ad visitors found what they wanted. It contains no personal information. - Preference cookie (theme): remembers your light or dark mode choice, where available.
- Security: our content delivery network, Cloudflare, may set cookies needed to protect the site from abuse.
- Retailer and affiliate cookies: when you leave our site through a buy button, Amazon or the affiliate network (CJ Affiliate, Impact or PartnerStack) may set cookies on their websites to record that you came from us. Their own privacy policies apply.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. To stop Google Analytics, you can use Google's opt-out browser add-on, and you can manage ad personalization at Google Ad Settings.
How we use information
- to run, secure and speed up the site;
- to understand which guides and reviews are useful, and improve them;
- to measure our advertising (for example, which ads bring readers who find a product they want);
- to count clicks to retailers and match the commissions we earn;
- to reply to your messages and comply with the law.
Who we share information with
We use these service providers, who process data on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own policies:
- Google (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Search Console): analytics and ad measurement.
- Cloudflare: content delivery, caching and security.
- Hetzner: hosting of our web server (Germany).
- Amazon Associates, CJ Affiliate, Impact and PartnerStack: affiliate programs, when you click through to a retailer.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or merger of the business. We don't sell personal information for money.
How long we keep it
Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account (no longer than 14 months). Click counts are kept as long as they are useful for our statistics. Server and security logs are kept for a short period, usually a few weeks.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (for example California, other US states, the European Union or the United Kingdom), you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or limit certain processing, and to opt out of targeted advertising. Because we don't collect names or accounts, we usually can't link analytics data to a specific person, but we will help where we can. Email us at [email protected]. You won't be treated differently for using these rights. EU and UK visitors can also complain to their local data protection authority.
Where EU or UK law applies, we rely on our legitimate interest in running and improving the site, and on your consent where the law requires it for cookies. Our service providers may transfer data to the United States and other countries, using the safeguards the law requires.
Children
The site is not aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
